A Holiday Message from Particle Founder and CEO Zach Supalla

To our customers, partners, and friends,

What a year.

At Spectra earlier this year, I gave a keynote speech about the future of IoT – and much of that future is already unfolding. The demand for more connected and more intelligent machines, devices, and physical operations has driven incredible growth: our customers have grown their IoT fleet sizes on average 70% year over year, and you’ve deployed a record number of new IoT products on Particle across industries such as Light Electric Vehicles, HVAC, Industrial Manufacturing, Smart Energy, and Emissions Monitoring. It is exciting to see how quickly IoT is growing and to have the opportunity to work with all of you: the people and companies that are making it happen.

Some of this industry growth comes from an increasing need for remote monitoring in a post-pandemic world where human contact must be limited, and it is harder to get someone out into the field with a clipboard to record sensor readings.

Some of this growth comes from the pervasive supply chain challenges that we’ve seen this year, increasing the need for visibility into the location of and status of assets en route.

And some of this growth comes from a shared global responsibility to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which is creating huge opportunities in electrification, distributed energy production, and emissions monitoring.

The world is changing, and it turns out that the Internet of Things might be part of the solution for many of the global challenges we are working through.

For all the growth and innovation we’ve seen, I know we’re barely scratching the surface of what we will collectively achieve, together. IoT is growing rapidly because of the ingenuity, resilience, and vision all of you have demonstrated in building a more connected, more intelligent world.

For these reasons and more, I speak for all of Particle in saying that we look forward to continuing our work with you, connecting with you at our Spectra conference in April, and seeing what we can build together in 2022 and beyond.

For now, I hope you find time to rest, recharge, and reflect on the past year with your families, friends, and colleagues.

Wishing you happy holidays and a great start to 2022,

Zach Supalla
